Can I travel with my pet?

Etihad Airways accepts the carriage of falcons and guide dogs to lead the blind in the cargo hold compartment provided that all the necessary health documents and important licenses have been obtained.

Any other animals must travel as cargo and are not permitted within the aircraft cabin or checked baggage.

How do I report lost or damaged baggage?

In the unfortunate event of a baggage delay when flying with Etihad Airways, you can make a Baggage Claim. If you discover that your baggage and/or its contents are damaged after leaving the airport, please complete and submit a Baggage Claim Form within 7 days of arrival. We will assess the claim and notify you accordingly.

How do I report lost or damaged baggage?

Does my baggage go all the way through to my final destination if I have a stop?

Yes if you have booked one ticket with Etihad Airways and you do not leave the airport at the location of your transit stop. If you have booked two flights with different airlines, or you want to have a stopover in the middle of your journey, you will have to collect your baggage where you stop. In addition, for travel in the US, you may be required to collect your baggage at the mid-point of your journey. Excess baggage charges vary depending on your origin and destination. Please refer to the bottom of our baggage page for information on all Etihad flights except those traveling to and from the US or Canada.

Guests traveling on Pearl Business Class and Diamond First Class can use Etihad’s premium lounges. In addition, Etihad Guest Silver, Gold and Gold Elite members can access some lounges but with restrictions.

What is the check in time for my flight?

Web check in opens 24 hours before flight departure time. Guests can check in online anytime between then and 2 hours before the schedule flight departure time.

At the airport, check in opens at least 3 hours prior to departure. For flights departing from Abu Dhabi, check in opens 4 hours prior to departure. Check in closes 60 minutes prior to departure. Please ensure you are at the boarding gates at least 45 minutes before departure.

Does Etihad offer hotel accommodation on long transit?

No, the maximum transit time on any Etihad flight is 9 hours. Flights with a longer connecting time than that are not bookable on Etihad.com and are not considered transit. In these cases, you would need to arrange your own visas (if applicable) and accommodation.

How do I book unaccompanied minors?

Children above the age of 5 and below the age of 12 and travelling alone are treated as Unaccompanied Minors (UM’s). UMs are charged at the adult rate and can only be booked on Etihad-operated flights.

After booking, contact your nearest Etihad office or call our contact centre on +97125990000 to receive and submit the required UM documentation at least a week before the date of departure. UMs cannot be accepted onto a flight without this documentation and they must be seen off and met on arrival by their parents/guardians.

How do I book unaccompanied minors?

Can children aged 12-16 travel as unaccompanied minors?

Young adults from the age of 12 and below the age of 16 travelling alone without parents/guardians are entitled to the UM service if specifically requested by the parent or guardian.

After check-in, your children are our responsibility. We guide them through passport control and security checks right up to the aircraft and then ensure they enjoy a pleasant flight.

Upon landing, they are introduced to one of our ground hosts, who escorts them to the arrivals hall to be met by you.

Younger guests

When booking online, at what point is my infant considered a child, or child considered an adult?

Infants (0-2 years old) and children (2-11 years old) are deemed to be so at the time of travel and not at the time of booking. A child traveling on his or her second birthday is considered a child and not an infant, and would need to have been ticketed as such.
