Located in South Asia, Bangladesh is one of the seven most populated countries in the world, with more than 150 million inhabitants. The state language is Bengali and the vast majority of the population are Muslim. The earliest remnants of Bangladesh civilisation can be traced back over 4,000 years.

Tourists often flock to the Sundarbans, which is the largest mangrove forest in the world, stretching 80km through West Bengal and Bangladesh. The Sundarbans is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was also declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1966. There are approximately 30,000 deer and 400 Royal Bengal tigers in the area, together with many different species of fish, reptiles, birds, insects and mammals.
