Children above the age of 5 and below the age of 12 and travelling alone are treated as Unaccompanied Minors (UM’s).
Young adults from the age of 12 and below the age of 16 travelling
alone without parents/guardians are also entitled to the UM service if
specifically requested by the parent or guardian.
Children below 5 years of age are not eligible for this service and
will not be allowed to travel alone.
If transferring between flights, a
maximum transit time of 4 hours is allowed.
Flying with partner airlines
If your flight or a segment of your flight is operated by an airline partner, contact the airline directly for its unaccompanied minor age classification and policies.
After booking the flight, contact your nearest Etihad office to receive and submit the required UM documentation which must be completed before the date of departure.

UMs cannot be accepted onto a flight without this documentation.
We take care of your child at every step of the journey. On the day of
travel, your child must be escorted to the airport and should be
checked-in at least 120 minutes prior to scheduled time of departure.
After check-in, your child will be placed under the guardianship of
one of our ground hosts who will guide them through passport control and
security checks right up to the aircraft. At this point our cabin crew
