Brisbane Airport serves the capital of Queensland plus surrounding metropolitan area and is the third busiest airport in Australia, with over 20,000 passengers passing through its doors each year.
The
airport lies 13km northeast of the city centre and houses an international and
a domestic terminal. Both terminals are located next to railway stations, with
daily services running to and from central Brisbane every 15 to 30 minutes
between 6am and 10pm.
The
international and domestic terminals both contain a number of speciality retail
outlets as well as restaurants, bars and free internet access. Both terminals
are also connected by bus to Brisbane Airport Village, which features a variety
of shopping, eating and drinking facilities as well as a child care centre and
a 24 hour gym.
The airport has won a
number of awards in recent years, including best airport in the
Australia-Pacific region, friendliest airport staff in the world and a
Queensland architecture award for its international terminal.
