A total of 21 flights were diverted to seven regional airports – 18
passenger aircraft and three freighters. Nine flights have now been able to
reposition to Abu Dhabi, and several more are airborne.
Flights from Abu Dhabi have also recommenced with services departing to
Munich, Paris, New York, Milan, Rome, Sydney and Manila.
The dense fog, which rolled in just after midnight, delayed the
departure from Abu Dhabi of 44 early morning flights by up to four hours, while
several others were cancelled.
Etihad Airways is working to minimise disruption to its customers. However,
delays are anticipated for the rest of the day.
