Sydney Airport is located around 10km from the city centre and is easily accessible by regular public transport links.
Managed by Sydney Airport Corporation Limited, it is one of the oldest continually operated airports in the world and is the busiest in Australia, handling over 35 million passengers every year.
Also known as Kingsford-Smith Airport in honour of the pioneering Australian aviator Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, Sydney airport has three terminals. Terminal 1 is also known as the International Terminal and contains 30 gates and 200 check-in desks over an area of 254,000 square metres.
Terminals 2 and 3 are domestic terminals and are located a short distance from Terminal 1, which is accessible on foot, by bus or by train.
Sydney Airport contains a range of facilities including shops, bars and restaurants as well as banking and postal services, a currency exchange, a number of public internet access terminals, professional massage therapists and a rooftop observation deck.
