Rajiv Gandhi Hyderabad International Airport, located around 22km south of central Hyderabad, is named after the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi.
Also known as Hyderabad International
Airport, the facility opened in 2008 after nearly three years in construction,
and has emerged as the sixth busiest airport in India.
A number of onsite facilities are available
for passengers, including a vast array of lounges, eateries, shops and banks
across its international and domestic terminals and airport village. In
addition, it is the only airport in the world with its own open-air go kart
track.
Rajiv Gandhi Hyderabad International Airport
has been listed as one of the world’s top airports by Airports Council
International (ACI), and ranked amongst the world’s top five airports in the
annual Airport Service Quality Passenger Survey. It will have the capacity to
accommodate 40 million passengers every year on completion of its long-term,
