Larnaca Salt Lake
The Larnaca Salt Lake is located on the west side of Larnaca and holds four salt lakes of different sizes, lake Spiro, lake Orphani, lake Aliki and lake Soros. Over 80 different species of water birds live on the lakes and it is estimated that there are 35,000 living in the area, including approximately 10,000 flamingos. In summer it is possible to see the salt surrounded by a haze of grey dust, however in winter the lakes are full of water.

Church of Ayios Lazaros (Saint Lazaros)
The Church was built to house the tomb of Lazarus in the 9th century and was renovated in the 17th century. There are various items of significance to see in the Church but pay special attention to the following; front porch, the bell tower, the twin piers, the pulpit and the crypt. In the crypt is the empty marble sarcophagus where Lazarus's remains were once entombed.

Larnaca Airport

Located just 2.5 miles southwest of Larnaca, Larnaca International Airport is the larger of two airports servicing international and domestic passengers on the island of Cyprus.

Larnaca International is also thought to be Europe's 70th busiest airport, welcoming over 6 million passengers per year. The airport uses one principal passenger terminal - with departures operating from the upper floor and arrivals on the lower floor. 16 boarding bridges connect the terminal to aircraft, though shuttle buses are sometimes provided on busier days.

A VIP terminal is also in use for welcoming visiting dignitaries and private aircraft. This secondary terminal is also sometimes used to receive and hold cargo.

Larnaca International - along with nearby Paphos International - was recently the subject of a £650 million upgrade, and will undergo further expansion in 2013 to increase the newly refurbished main terminal's capacity from 7 million to 9 million.

Due to the recent programme of renovations, passengers are able to benefit from increased check-in counters and self-check-in kiosks, new lounge areas and better parking and disabled facilities.
