Bangalore Airport

Bengaluru International Airport covers an area of 20.9 square km and is located 4km south of the town of Devanahalli, 40km from the centre of Bangalore.

The airport is the fourth busiest in India and has previously been awarded the accolade of "India's best airport" after a Skytrax survey.

Construction of the Bengaluru International Airport commenced in 2005 after a 10 year postponement. During this time, the original plans were redesigned to expand the size of the terminal in order to increase the airport's proposed passenger handling capacity from 3.5 million to 12 million travellers a year.

The first international flight left the airport minutes after its inauguration on 23 May 2008. The airport contains a single, four level passenger terminal that services both international and domestic flights.

The building is designed to accommodate up to 3,000 passengers during peak times and puts an emphasis on passenger comfort, with a range of facilities such as lounges, retail outlets, restaurants and cafes available alongside other conveniences.
