Tokyo Narita International Airport is located 7 kilometres outside the city of Narita and is a main airport serving the Greater Tokyo Area, handling the majority of international passenger traffic to and from Japan.
Narita Airport serves as a major connecting point between Asia and the Americas and handles around 34 million passengers every year.
Narita International Airport, originally known as New Tokyo International Airport, currently has four runways and two separate terminals, which are served by separate underground train stations.
Terminal 1 is divided into a North Wing and a South Wing and uses a satellite terminal design, spread over seven stories. Narita International Airport contains a large number of passenger amenities and entertainments, including The Museum of Aeronautical Sciences. The South Wing of Terminal 1 is also home to "Narita Nakamise", the largest airport duty-free brand boutique mall in Japan.
