Peshawar International Airport (also known as the Bacha Khan International Airport after the political leader Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan), is the principal airport serving the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
Located just 180 km (a two-hour drive) from Islamabad - the federal capital of Pakistan, Peshawar International handles over 1 million passengers per year and is one of the busiest airports in the country thanks in part to its being a short distance from Afghanistan where demand for flights has grown.
Over 75% of flights departing from Peshawar are internationally bound and there are a range of facilities in the airport for the convenience of international travellers, such as two international departure and arrival halls, two executive lounges with Wi-Fi connectivity, international calling booths, money exchange outlets, ATMS and gift shops. Government officials recently announced that 5 billion rupees will be spent extending the airport in future years.
