Bid for an upgrade
Bidding to upgrade to Business or First is simple; enter how much you’d like to bid and we’ll let you know if you’ve been successful. You’ll also earn 10% bonus miles, as well as those from your original booking.
Submit your bid
Enter your bid online up to four hours before your flight. You can pay using card or Etihad Guest Miles.
Check your inbox
If your bid is successful, you’ll receive an email as confirmation. If it was unsuccessful, there’s no change to your booking.
Proceed to check-in
Check in online or at the airport, and you’ll receive your new boarding pass. Then, enjoy your upgrade!
You’ll need your booking reference or ticket number to bid, which you’ll find on your flight confirmation email. If you can’t find your booking reference, please speak to us.
Frequently asked questions
You are eligible to bid for an upgrade if you are flying on an Etihad-operated flight with a confirmed ticket. You are not eligible for an upgrade if you have booked:
Economy Basic fares
A redemption ticket
A free ticket
An already upgraded ticket using Etihad Guest Miles or cash
As part of a group booking
A staff ticket
Yes, you can still place a bid, even if you’ve already checked in online.
