The Etihad Cadet Technician Programme is a comprehensive two-year training development programme designed to kickstart the careers of aspiring aviation professionals and guide them towards becoming a licensed Aircraft Technician. This dynamic programme blends theoretical learning with hands-on, on-the-job training, providing candidates with the practical experience needed to take on key responsibilities in aircraft maintenance across various aircraft types.

Throughout the programme, candidates will follow a structured career pathway to achieve their goal of becoming a licensed Aircraft Technician. The journey includes enrolling in an approved Aviation Maintenance training programme, completing GCAA module examinations, and gaining supervised practical experience. After obtaining the CAT A license from GCAA, candidates will begin working as Technicians and accumulate the required three years of experience to qualify for Aircraft Type Authorisation. Upon successful completion, candidates will graduate with a Category A Aircraft Maintenance License, fully qualifying them as licensed Aircraft Technicians.

What qualifications do I need? 
We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are UAE nationals with a valid family book
  • Are between 18 and 29 years old
  • Have a high school certificate or equivalent, including Maths/Physics/Science, with a 60% overall score
  • Have a proficient command of the English language
  • Have completed or been exempted from UAE National Service (for males)
  • Have medical clearance
  • Are willing to work shifts, including nights
  • Are flexible about working outdoors
  • Are willing to travel
