Network

Our network is growing – so it’s time to start looking forward to your next trip. Fly to and from Abu Dhabi or transfer to over 60 destinations across Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and North America in August and September. You’ll find all of the destinations we’re flying to below.

If you are a UAE resident, you no longer require ICA approval to return to Abu Dhabi. Before you book your flight, you are encouraged to visit uaeentry.ica.gov.ae. Please submit your passport number and Emirates ID number to receive instant verification of your UAE entry status. This will be in accordance with your UAE residence visa validity.

It is mandatory to have a COVID-19 PCR test before you fly with Etihad Airways from any worldwide airport outside of Abu Dhabi.

You also need a COVID-19 PCR test if you are travelling from Abu Dhabi to any European Union country, as well as Switzerland and the UK.

From 16 August, it will be mandatory to have a COVID-19 PCR test for all flights with Etihad Airways.

Your test can be carried out at any government accredited medical facility a maximum of 96 hours before your flight departure time. Timings will differ if you are flying from China or the USA. Guests departing Pakistan and India must use an Etihad approved medical facility. 

Children under 12 and people with mild and severe disabilities are exempt from COVID-19 PCR testing. 

Remember to print your test results and keep them with you throughout your trip.

India flights

We’re operating special flights to Abu Dhabi from Bengaluru, Chennai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi and Mumbai. These flights will operate throughout August 2020.

Pakistan flights

If you are travelling from Pakistan, there are a number of travel regulations you need to be aware of. You must present a negative COVID-19 test result before you will be permitted to fly, and you must download the UAE Al Hosn app. Find out more

COVID-19 PCR testing

It is mandatory to have a COVID-19 PCR test before you fly with Etihad Airways from any worldwide airport outside of Abu Dhabi.

You will only be permitted to fly if you have a negative COVID-19 PCR test issued by an approved clinic a maximum of 96 hours before your flight departure time.

Remember to print your test results and keep them with you throughout your trip – you will be required to present your result for validation at check-in.

Flights from Abu Dhabi

Fly from Abu Dhabi and choose from more than 60 worldwide destinations.

It is mandatory to have a COVID-19 PCR test before you fly with Etihad Airways from any worldwide airport outside of Abu Dhabi.

You also need a COVID-19 PCR test if you are travelling from Abu Dhabi to any European Union country, as well as Switzerland and the UK.

From 16 August, it will be mandatory to have a COVID-19 PCR test for all flights with Etihad Airways.

Your test can be carried out at any government accredited medical facility a maximum of 96 hours before your flight departure time. 

Always check the latest travel regulations for your destination before you fly. 

If you are travelling from another emirate to reach Abu Dhabi airport, you must present a negative COVID-19 test before you will be permitted to enter Abu Dhabi. The test must be valid within 48 hours.

Flights to Abu Dhabi

You’ll only be permitted to enter the UAE if you are a UAE national or resident with a valid visa.

Please refer to our helpful list of locally approved medical clinics to arrange your COVID-19 PCR test. You must travel within 96 hours of your test, and you will be required to present your test result for validation at check-in.

Children under 12 and people with mild and severe disabilities are exempt from COVID-19 PCR testing. 

If your test is positive or you are unable to present proof of your negative COVID-19 PCR test, you will not be permitted to travel. You can rearrange your flight for free, or cancel and use the value of your flight towards your next trip with Etihad Credit.

You must print your test results and keep them with you throughout your trip.

Arriving in Abu Dhabi

PCR testing and temperature screening are in operation at Abu Dhabi airport, and you’ll be asked to wait two metres apart from other guests at all queuing points.

When you arrive in Abu Dhabi, you are permitted to travel without restriction to any other emirate, though you must self-isolate for 14 days. 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, our arrivals lounge is closed. 

Transferring to a connecting flight in Abu Dhabi

Fly via Abu Dhabi to or from destinations across Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and North America. The maximum connection time in Abu Dhabi is six hours.

When we land in Abu Dhabi, you’ll be directed to the airport terminal. Please remember to keep your face mask on and follow the new measures that have been put in place to keep you protected. 

Our team will carry out an extensive deep clean of the aircraft, including seats, seatbelts, toilets, tray tables and armrests. As soon as the next aircraft is ready, you’ll board the plane and we’ll continue to our final destination. 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, limited food and beverage options are available in Abu Dhabi, and our Duty Free stores and lounges are closed. We will reopen them as soon as we can. 

We understand this is a long journey, and we’ll do everything we can to make it as smooth and comfortable as possible for you; you will not need to collect your bags when we land in Abu Dhabi, and our maximum connection time is six hours.

Check-in at the airport opens three hours before your scheduled flight time.

It is compulsory to wear a face mask whilst you travel – at the airport and on board.

Wash your hands at regular intervals and follow social distancing guidelines at all times.

You can only carry one personal item on board weighing up to 5kg. Whether you’re flying in Economy, Business or First, you can check in your remaining cabin baggage for free.

We’ve made some changes on board to optimise the space between you and other guests.

We’ll offer our onboard food and drinks service in line with important COVID-19 guidelines.

Our Wellness Ambassadors are available 24/7 before or during your trip, and you’ll receive a Wellness Kit on board.
