Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has appointed Viviane El Hajj as its new General Manager for Lebanon.
El
Hajj replaces
Joseph Chamoun who moved to the airline’s hub in Abu Dhabi in August 2012 to
become General Manager for the home market.
In her new role El Hajj will
be based in Beirut, where she will be responsible for driving commercial
results and further growing strong relationships with the airline’s travel
trade and corporate customers.
Prior
to joining Etihad Airways, El Hajj spent 18 years in the airline industry, most
recently as sales manager for Air France, following several years at KLM where
she worked in various managerial positions.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad
Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Vivianne has a wealth of knowledge and
experience in the airline industry and has developed an extensive network
within the corporate travel and trade sectors across Lebanon. We are excited to
have her on board and look forward to her assistance in further developing our
presence in the Lebanese market.”
Etihad Airways commenced
services to Beirut in November 2003, and currently operates 18 flights per week
between Abu Dhabi and the Lebanese capital.
In April 2013, flights
between the two capitals will increase to 20 times per week, thereby
strengthening connectivity to and from Australia through the airline’s Abu
Dhabi hub.
