Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), marked the 3 December launch of its service between Abu Dhabi and Dallas/Fort Worth, with an exclusive cocktail function held last night at the Hall of State in Dallas, Texas.
The event was attended by more
than 300 guests, including diplomatic and government officials, business
professionals and trade partners.
Guests arriving on the Hall of State red
carpet were treated to the warm hospitality of Etihad Airways with traditional
Arabian Ayala dancers, Arabic coffee and dates.
The evening started with a champagne
reception and canapés while Jazz singer, Ddendyl
entertained guests with a lively performance.
Guests mingled while having the
opportunity to experience displays of Etihad Airways’ new First and Business
Class products which will be introduced on its A380 and B787 aircraft.
Guests were addressed by James
Hogan, Etihad Airways’ President and Chief Executive Officer, before enjoying a
live 30-minute performance from the popular Italian operatic pop trio, II Volo.
Mr Hogan said: “I would like to
thank the UAE Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Yousef Al Otaiba,
and the local government authorities for their support during the airline’s
launch of services to Dallas/Fort Worth.
“Dallas/Fort Worth becomes our
sixth destination in the US, making it even easier for guests to access our
rapidly growing network of 111 cities worldwide. The new route will not only
help promote Abu Dhabi and other markets to US, but will also further stimulate
business and leisure travel to Dallas from across our global network.”
Notes: Etihad Airways flies three times a week from Abu
Dhabi to Dallas/Fort Worth, daily to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and
