Our cover is included with every Etihad Airways ticket travelling from 7 September 2020 up to 31 December 2020, so wherever you’re flying to, you can travel there with confidence.

Our COVID-19 global wellness insurance cover is an extension to your travel insurance, giving you extra peace of mind as you travel the world. If you’re diagnosed with COVID-19 whilst you’re away, we’ll take care of your medical expenses and quarantine costs. No stress, no hassle. Simple.
Book a flight
Our cover is included with every Etihad Airways ticket travelling from 7 September 2020 until 31 December 2020.
Simply book your flight with Etihad Airways and you’ll be covered for 31 days from the first day of your trip. You can book direct or via a travel agent or other third party.
If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 whilst you’re away, please contact our Etihad COVID-19 Assistance Team as soon as possible. This is really important as you will not be reimbursed for any services that have not been organised by Etihad COVID-19 Assistance. Please note you will not be covered for the cost of PCR tests.

Cover is automatically included with every Etihad Airways booked ticket for international flights operated from Sept 7 2020 till December 31 2020. We have partnered with AXA to provide this cover for our guests. This is effective following the first flight outside of your *home country and is valid for 31 days, or upon your return to your home country, if earlier.
If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 during your travels, outside your home country, and would like to receive assistance, you will need to contact AXA as soon as possible, lines are open 24 hours a day.
Medical services which have not been authorised by Etihad COVID-19 Global Wellness Insurance Cover, which is managed by AXA, will not be reimbursed.
*Home country: the country where you reside more than 180 days per tax year.

AXA is the provider and insurance is automatically effective following the first flight outside of your *home country and is valid for 31 days, or upon your return to your home country if earlier. You are not obligated to use this insurance but it’s there for you if you need it.
The Insurance is valid, when outside your home country, for 31 days from the first flight of your journey from the date of departure, whether it is a one-way ticket or return ticket. A second one-way ticket will be treated as a new booking, with a new 31 day period of coverage outside your home country. Your coverage will finish upon return to home country.
If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 during the 31-day period, then insurance will continue to be provided up to the actual duration of medical treatment or quarantine (subject to applicable limits and exclusions) until your return to your home country, even if it continues after the end of the 31-day period.
If you’re diagnosed with COVID-19 whilst you’re away from your home country, we’ll take care of your medical expenses and quarantine costs. Please note you will not be covered for the cost of PCR tests.

Yes. You must obtain pre-approval from Etihad COVID-19 Global Wellness Insurance Cover by calling AXA for any expenses on the numbers provided bellow. Failure to do this will void any assistance.
No. You are covered wherever you travel, outside your home country – which is the country where you reside more than 180 days per tax year.
No, it covers medical expenses related to Covid-19, following a positive testing.
Yes, you will be covered according to the T&Cs if you continue your journey by car, train or flight to another country outside your home country. Your coverage is valid for traveling outside your home country with a ticket booked with Etihad.
Your coverage will finish after 31 days of your departure with any Etihad Airways ticket, or upon return to your *home country.

Yes, we will provide 100 euros per insured person for each full day you have to spend in quarantine, up to a maximum of 14 days. If you need medical treatment for COVID-19, this will also be covered up to 150,000 euros.
No. You would not be covered as you have not been diagnosed with COVID-19 in this case.

We cover quarantine expenses for compulsory isolation under legal requirement issued by the local government authority as a result of being identified as a carrier of COVID-19 or being in close contact with confirmed cases of COVID-19.
You will be covered if you bought your ticket from Etihad - whether on Etihad.com or via a travel agent. You will qualify for Insurance whether your flight was operated by Etihad or by one of our codeshare partners. If you purchased your ticket from another airline or a codeshare partner airline, you will not be covered, even if one or more flights of your journey is on an Etihad aircraft.
If requested, we will organise the repatriation of one travel companion and your children traveling with you. If no adult member of your family is present at the trip, we will make sure that your children will be repatriated accompanied by an adult.
Yes. In order get assistance, you will have to share details to AXA who will be arranging assistance and handling your claims. Etihad may also share some of your details to AXA in order to verify your identity and dates of travel.
Yes, as long as you hold an Etihad ticket and have flown on Etihad.
No. Etihad Global Wellness Insurance Cover is automatically effective following your first completed flight of your journey on Etihad from the date of departure and is valid, outside of your home country, for 31 days.
Yes, you are covered as long as you have a valid Etihad ticket booked to travel on an Etihad flight or a flight operated by one of our codeshare partners.
No. Coverage ends after 31 days and extension is not possible under this policy.
The coverage is valid outside of your home country for 31 days following the first completed flight of your journey. It ends when you return to your home country. If you have a ticket to your home country, you will also be covered starting from 4 ( four) hours prior to departure for quarantine and medical expenses due to COVID-19 as result of testing during the boarding process.
