There are multiple ways to upgrade including using your Etihad Guest Miles, submitting an offer through our bidding system on applicable flights, at check-in if there is available space on board, or through our contact centre.

Instant Airport Upgrade

Terminal 3 at Abu Dhabi Airport

If you have not managed to upgrade prior to check-in, you may request to purchase an Instant Airport Upgrade from the Etihad check-in agent.

  • Upgrades are subject to seat availability in the higher cabin.
  • Guests upgrading to Business Class are entitled to lounge access (subject to space availability) and Business Class baggage allowance.
  • Chauffeur services are not available for upgraded tickets.
  • Etihad Guest Miles are accrued as per the original cabin booked. 
  • Tickets booked as ‘Breaking Deals’ fares  (booked in classes T, E for Economy Class and Z for Business Class) are not eligible for an upgrade

Purchase a Business or First Class ticket

First Apartment guest

In addition to our upgrade options, you are also able to change your ticket.
