COVID-19 test required to enter Abu Dhabi
If you are travelling from another emirate to reach Abu Dhabi airport, you must present a negative COVID-19 test before you will be permitted to enter Abu Dhabi. The test must be valid within 48 hours. Taxis are in operation between Dubai and Abu Dhabi airport.

Change your flight
If your flight has been cancelled, you can simply keep your ticket open until you’re ready to travel again. You don’t need to call us or do anything until you’re ready to rebook. We’ll keep your ticket open until 31 October 2021, and if you haven’t used your open ticket within 12 months of your first cancelled flight, you will be entitled to a refund. To request a refund, please call us.
Refunds are permitted for tickets purchased directly with Etihad Airways and travel agencies based in Australia, Canada and the USA, and tickets originating in the European Union (including Switzerland and the UK), where any Etihad Airways flight on the ticket has been cancelled.

COVID-19 PCR testing is mandatory before every flight to give you the confidence to travel the world again.
Depending on where you are flying to, your test must be carried out between 48, 72 or 96 hours ahead of your flight departure time. Please make sure your test result is in the language mandated by the government of your destination country.
If you're flying with Etihad Airways between 1 October 2020 and 31 March 2021, COVID-19 PCR testing is included with all flights from Abu Dhabi. This excludes flights to China where you will be required to arrange a COVID-19 PCR test at an approved G42 clinic.

Children under 12 and people with severe and moderate disabilities are exempt from COVID-19 PCR testing, though this is subject to the regulations at your destination.
Remember to print your test result as you will be required to present it for validation at check-in. You must present a medical certificate or other relevant document, clearly stating the type of test and the result.
You may also present your test result via the Al Hosn app if you are flying to Abu Dhabi.
If your test is positive or you are unable to present proof of your negative COVID-19 PCR test, you will not be permitted to travel. You can rearrange your flight for free, or cancel and use the value of your flight towards your next trip with Etihad Credit. Read more
Due to government restrictions across our network, you will only be permitted to carry a personal item on board, such as a handbag, backpack or laptop bag. This can weigh up to 5kg. You may check in your remaining cabin baggage before you fly for free. This applies if you are flying in Economy, Business or First.
In Abu Dhabi, our Arrivals Lounge and Terminal 3 Business Class Lounge are now open, with enhanced safety measures to keep you protected. With travel restrictions still imposed around the world, some of our lounges remain temporarily closed. We’re working to open them as soon as we can.

Travel between Abu Dhabi and other UAE emirates is currently restricted by the Abu Dhabi Government. If you are travelling between emirates to reach the airport, you must prove that you have tested negative for COVID-19 within the past 48 hours before you’ll be permitted to enter Abu Dhabi. You must also present your booking confirmation or ticket if requested by officials.

You’re eligible for a refund if your flight has been cancelled by Etihad Airways and you were scheduled to fly from Australia, Canada, the European Union, Switzerland, the UK or the US.

We’ve put additional cleaning measures in place both on board and on the ground.
Our ground-handling teams follow strict cleaning procedures to disinfect our aircraft after every flight, and all utensils and surfaces are sterilised.
Our aircraft are also fitted with High-Efficiency Particle Filters (HEPA), which renew the entire cabin's air every two to four minutes. These air filtration systems are very effective, eliminating more than 99.8% of all airborne microbes, including dust, germs and pathogens.

If you’ve already submitted your request for Etihad Credit, you can still sign up and claim your bonus miles.
We understand it may be difficult for young children to wear a mask when they travel. If they’re comfortable, we recommend that children aged two to five wear a mask as much as they possibly can. Children aged six or older must wear a mask at all times, wash their hands regularly and follow social distancing guidelines as much as possible.

If you've booked a GuestSeat using Etihad Guest Miles and your flight has been impacted, please get in touch with our Contact Centre. GuestSeat tickets are refundable, so you will not be eligible to claim Etihad Credit.
To help you maintain your Tier Status, you’ll earn double Tier Miles on all trips between 1 March – 31 July 2020, and you’ll automatically accrue monthly bonus Tier Miles from 31 March.
