guidelines

and regulations

It’s really important that you follow the travel regulations that are in place around the world. This will help to keep you protected and limit the spread of COVID-19, and make sure that your travel plans are not disrupted.

If you are a UAE resident, you no longer require ICA approval to return to Abu Dhabi. Before you book your flight, you are encouraged to visit uaeentry.ica.gov.ae. Please submit your passport number and Emirates ID number to receive instant verification of your UAE entry status. This will be in accordance with your UAE residence visa validity.

You will undergo thermal screening and COVID-19 PCR testing when you land at Abu Dhabi airport. This applies to all guests, including infants and children.

Mandatory COVID-19 PCR testing

It is mandatory to have a COVID-19 PCR test before you fly with Etihad Airways from any worldwide airport outside of Abu Dhabi.

You also need a COVID-19 PCR test if you are travelling from Abu Dhabi to any European Union country, as well as Switzerland and the UK.

From 16 August, it will be mandatory to have a COVID-19 PCR test for all flights with Etihad Airways.

Your test can be carried out at any government accredited medical facility a maximum of 96 hours before your flight departure time. Timings will differ if you are flying from China or the USA. Guests departing Pakistan and India must use an Etihad approved medical facility. Enter your departure city below to find out more.

Children under 12 and people with mild and severe disabilities are exempt from COVID-19 PCR testing. This may vary by destination – always check before you fly.

You will only be permitted to fly if you have a negative COVID-19 PCR test issued by an approved clinic a maximum of 96 hours before your flight departure time.

Remember to print your test results and keep them with you throughout your trip – you will be required to present your result for validation at check-in.
