Are Etihad flights operating normally?

Etihad Airways has resumed a limited commercial flight schedule from 6 March-15 April 2026, operating between Abu Dhabi and a number of key destinations. This is a phased resumption, and the schedule is being expanded carefully and responsibly as conditions allow. We are monitoring the situation continuously and will update our schedule as the position develops.

Which routes are affected?

A number of routes are currently operating on a limited basis. The most up-to-date information on which routes are operating, and any adjusted timings, is always available at etihad.com. Customers with existing bookings on affected routes will be contacted directly if their flight is impacted.

Why are some flights taking longer than usual?

Some services are currently operating on adjusted routings as a precautionary measure. While this may result in slightly longer flight times, these routings have been assessed and approved by the relevant aviation authorities and our own safety teams. We appreciate the patience of our guests and will return to standard routings as soon as it is safe to do so.

How frequently is the situation being reviewed?

Etihad is monitoring the situation minute-by-minute. Decisions about our schedule - including any expansions, reductions, or route changes - are taken in real time in close coordination with international aviation authorities and our own safety and security teams.

What happens should the situation evolve?

The safety of our guests and crew is our absolute priority. Should conditions change, we will act swiftly. Any customers affected by cancellations or significant schedule changes will be contacted directly, and full information will be available on etihad.com. We will not operate flights where safety cannot be assured.

I have a booking - will my flight go ahead?

We are doing everything we can to operate our schedule as planned. However, given the fluid nature of the situation, some services may be subject to change. We recommend checking etihad.com for the latest status of your flight and ensuring your contact details are up to date so we can reach you directly if needed.

How are you prioritising who gets on flights?

Our immediate priority is getting people home. We are prioritising existing customers who are awaiting return travel wherever possible. Our teams are working hard to ensure that those who need to get back to their families and loved ones can do so as quickly and smoothly as possible.

What if my travel has been disrupted and I need help?

Our teams are available around the clock to provide support, explore rebooking options, and ensure customers are not left without help. We encourage guests to visit etihad.com/manage to make immediate changes to your booking.  If needed, guests can contact Etihad Guest Services directly through the contact details available on etihad.com. If you have booked through a travel agent, please contact your travel agent directly.

Please note we are currently experiencing a high volume of calls and appreciate your patience as it may take longer than usual for calls to be answered. Guests seeking a refund are encouraged to visit etihad.com/manage where the refund will be processed automatically.

What welfare support is Etihad providing to affected passengers?

We are committed to the welfare of all our guests. Where flights have been significantly disrupted, our teams are working to provide appropriate support including rebooking assistance and relevant welfare provisions. If you have been affected, please visit etihad.com/manage for rebooking options, or contact us so we can assist you.

Where can I find the latest travel information for my destination?

Guests should refer to the travel advice issued by their national government before making any travel decisions. Etihad's current flight status is available at etihad.com/flightstatus.

How has Etihad determined it is safe to fly?

The decision to resume our flight schedule has been taken following extensive safety and security assessments, carried out in close consultation with international aviation authorities. All Etihad flights operate exclusively through airspace that has been assessed and approved by the relevant authorities. We do not take decisions about flight operations lightly, and safety remains our overriding consideration in every decision we make.

Which authorities have you consulted?

Etihad has worked closely with international aviation authorities and the relevant regulatory bodies. We continue to engage with these organisations in real time as the situation develops. We will not operate any service that has not been assessed and approved as safe to fly.

What is Etihad's contingency if conditions change mid-flight?

Our flight crews are fully briefed on contingency procedures and trained to respond to changing conditions. Established protocols are in place should any situation require an operational response, and our operations centre monitors every flight in real time. The safety of everyone on board is always the first consideration.

Can I change my booking without a fee?

Yes. Guests holding Etihad tickets issued on or before 28 February 2026, with original travel dates up to 15 April 2026, may rebook free of charge onto Etihad-operated flights up to 15 May 2026. Customers with bookings on impacted routes should visit etihad.com/manage to make changes to their booking. Guests who booked through a travel agent should contact their agent directly.

Can I get a refund?

Guests may request a refund at etihad.com/manage or through their original booking travel agent. Given the current high volume of calls, customers should use the online options as these are the most efficient channels.

Is connecting travel beyond Abu Dhabi available?

Connecting travel is available on limited routes. Routes can be checked at etihad.com.

How long will flexibility policies remain in place?

We will keep our flexibility policies under review as the situation evolves. We are committed to treating our guests fairly and will not penalise customers for decisions that are outside their control. Updates to our policies will be communicated via etihad.com.

Etihad has introduced a ‘no change fee’ booking initiative, providing travellers with greater flexibility and confidence when planning their future trips. Under the new initiative, guests who book from 6 March 2026 are entitled to one free date change across all Etihad Airways fare brands for travel until 31 March 2027. The policy allows travellers to make changes to their travel dates without paying a change fee, helping provide reassurance when planning travel in a dynamic operating environment.

Who do I contact to rebook?

Guests who booked through a travel agent should contact their agent directly.

Customers can rebook via etihad.com, through the Etihad app, or by contacting our Guest Services team directly. We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls and appreciate your patience – manage my booking is the fastest route to assistance during this period.
