Am I eligible for a refund?

Your eligibility for a refund depends on your ticket type and whether your trip has started.

  • Partially used tickets: Refund applies to the unused portion of your trip.

  • Non-refundable fares: Only government taxes may be refunded.

  • Within 24 hours: Full refund if cancelled at least seven days before departure.

You can request a refund anytime up to four hours before departure.

Confirmation:

We’ll send you a confirmation email when your refund has been processed.

Flight changes and cancellations

You’ll receive an email or SMS if your flight has been cancelled or delayed by more than two hour, or if you have been downgraded.

If your flight was cancelled or significantly changed by Etihad, you are entitled to a full refund, or you can rebook the next available flight for free.

Note:

In line with the U.S. DOT mandate, refunds for U.S. itineraries will be processed within seven business days for card payments, or 20 calendar days for all other payment types.

We’ll simply credit the refunded amount back to your Etihad Credit account. 
Log in to your account to:

  • View current balance 

  • Track voucher expiry

  • Add or redeem vouchers 

If your ticket is non-refundable, only applicable government taxes will be refunded. 

Some exceptions apply, for example, U.S. DOT rules, involuntary downgrades and operational cancellations. 

Partial refunds may apply under local tax regulations in some countries, including India, the Philippines and the U.S.

If you haven’t received your refund, first check with your bank or credit card provider, If still unresolved, email EtihadRefunds@etihad.ae with your booking reference and payment details.
