Travel to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and other emirates

You can enter Abu Dhabi if you are a UAE national or resident, or if you are eligible for a visa on arrival. All other visa services are currently suspended.

Other countries may also be eligible for a visa on arrival. Find out more.

When you arrive in Abu Dhabi, you must follow the quarantine guidelines in place and self-isolate for 14 days. If you are travelling to another emirate including Dubai, you will simply need to follow the quarantine rules of that emirate. You will only be permitted to travel to another emirate by Etihad Chauffeur, Etihad Express Coach or Airport Taxi.

UAE residents and nationals in Phase III of the vaccine trials or taking part in the National Vaccination Programme are exempt from quarantine on arrival to Abu Dhabi. Read more.

If you are a UAE resident, visit uaeentry.ica.gov.ae before you travel to submit your passport number and Emirates ID number. You'll receive instant verification of your UAE entry status in line with your residence visa validity.

COVID-19 PCR testing is mandatory before every flight to give you the confidence to travel the world again. You can feel safe knowing that every guest flying with us has tested negative for COVID-19. Always check the latest travel regulations before you fly.

Travel regulations and COVID-19 cover

If you're transferring in Abu Dhabi, the maximum connection time is 12 hours. If the time between your connecting flights exceeds 12 hours, you will not be permitted to check in.

For peace of mind and protection, it is mandatory to have a COVID-19 PCR test before your flight, and you may be required to comply with additional measures before you’ll permitted on board. Depending on where you are flying to or from, your test must be carried out 48, 72 or 96 hours ahead of your flight departure time. Always remember to check the latest travel regulations before you fly.

COVID-19 global wellness insurance cover is included with every Etihad Airways ticket up to 31 March 2021.
