Accessibility Statement

Overview

Etihad Airways is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the usability and inclusivity of our digital platforms so that all guests can access our services with ease and confidence.

We aim to apply recognised international and regional accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA Success Criteria and the European Standard EN 301 549.

If you experience any difficulty using our website or have suggestions on how we can improve accessibility, we encourage you to contact us so we can continue to enhance your experience.

You may notice that parts of our website have recently been refreshed with updated designs and enhanced features to create a smoother, more intuitive experience. Over the coming months, we will continue to improve additional sections of our site, with the goal of delivering a more seamless and consistent digital experience across etihad.com.

Our Accessibility Commitment

Etihad strives to make its digital platforms accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

Our objective is to ensure that all guests can:

  • Navigate our digital platforms efficiently and independently
  • Use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, keyboard navigation, and speech input
  • Access content that is clearly structured, easy to understand, and consistent across journeys

Accessibility considerations are incorporated into our ongoing design, development, and quality-assurance processes as part of our commitment to inclusive digital experiences.

Known Accessibility Enhancements in Progress

While we aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, we recognise that some areas of our website may not yet fully conform to all accessibility requirements.

Based on automated assessments and targeted manual accessibility reviews, including usability testing conducted with blind users by a specialised accessibility organisation, we have identified opportunities to further strengthen accessibility across our digital platforms.

Accessibility remains a key focus area, and remediation efforts are being prioritised to address foundational requirements and deliver the greatest impact for users.

Key areas currently being improved include:

  • Colour & Contrast

On some pages, text contrast may not fully meet recommended accessibility thresholds. Improvements are underway to enhance readability and visual clarity.

  • Forms & Interactive Elements

Selected form fields, buttons, and interactive components are being optimised to improve keyboard access and compatibility with screen readers.

  • Images & Alternative Text

Missing or incomplete alternative text is being addressed, and semantic markup is being refined to ensure visual content is clearly conveyed to assistive technologies.

  • Structure & Navigation

Page structure is being enhanced through clearer heading hierarchies, meaningful link descriptions, and more consistent keyboard navigation across key modules.

  • ARIA & Technical Attributes

ARIA usage is being reviewed and simplified where appropriate to ensure assistive technologies interpret content accurately and consistently.

  • Error Messages & Feedback

Error messages are being refined to provide clearer, more descriptive guidance to help users complete tasks successfully.

  • Responsive Behaviour & Zoom Support

Scenarios where content may overlap or be truncated at higher zoom levels or alternative display settings are being reviewed, with improvements introduced progressively.

  • Focus Order

Identified focus-order inconsistencies are being corrected to improve navigation flow for keyboard and screen-reader users.

Disclaimer

Automated accessibility checks were carried out and supported by targeted manual reviews. Testing was conducted using the Google Chrome browser (version 136.0.7103.92).

The results reflect the tested application version and configuration at the time of assessment. Variations in browser versions, operating systems, or assistive technologies may result in differences in presentation or behaviour.

Accessibility is an ongoing journey, and Etihad continues to review, improve, and enhance its digital platforms over time.
