This document outlines the key terms of the Ziyarah - Etihad Inbound Emergency Health Insurance Plan, provided with Daman for eligible tourists travelling to Abu Dhabi on Etihad Airways, including eligibility, coverage, exclusions, claims, and policy conditions. 

 

POLICY & PROCEDURE 

 

1. Eligibility & Policy Structure 

 

1.1 Target Audience: The plan is exclusively available to tourists who book on or after 1 July 2026 and travel to Abu Dhabi on Etihad Airways between 1 July 2026 and 31 December 2026. The Plan is not applicable to: 

 

  • UAE Nationals 
  • GCC Nationals 

 

1.2 Ticket Requirement: Guests must hold a valid return ticket with an intended stay duration matching the criteria in Section 1.3.  

 

1.3 Stay Duration Limits: 

 

  • Minimum Stay: The traveler must be staying in the UAE for at least twenty-four (24) hours. 
  • Maximum Coverage: The maximum duration of coverage under this Plan is fifteen (15) consecutive days from the date of entry into the UAE. 

 

1.4 Validation: Etihad Airways reserves the right to validate ticket dates, stay durations, and eligibility at the time of booking and before insurance enrollment is finalized. 

 

1.5 Master Policy Structure: Insurance is issued under a Master Policy held by Etihad Airways. Eligible guests are enrolled as individual members under this Master Policy for the specific duration of their travel as shared by Etihad with Daman. 

 

2. Introduction & Core Coverage 

 

2.1 This Inbound Emergency Health Insurance Plan (the "Plan") is provided by the National Insurance Company – Daman PJSC ("Daman"), part of Pure Health, in collaboration with Etihad Airways ("Etihad"). 

 

2.2 The Plan provides emergency health insurance coverage for eligible visitors arriving in Abu Dhabi via Etihad Airways. 

 

2.3 Coverage is strictly limited to emergency medical conditions and includes: 

 

  • Emergency Inpatient Treatment: Care requiring admission to a medical facility for acute, sudden, and life-threatening conditions. 
  • Ambulance Services: Ground transportation to the nearest authorized medical facility. 
  • Medical Evacuation: Transport to the nearest appropriate medical facility if the current facility lacks the necessary capacity or equipment to treat the emergency. 
  • Medical Repatriation: Medical repatriation to the insured member’s country of origin (a country that insured member holds a passport from), solely if the required medical treatment is unavailable anywhere within the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 
  • Repatriation of Mortal Remains: In the unfortunate event of an insured member’s death, the necessary cost for transporting the insured member’s mortal remains to country of origin. 

 

3. Claims Requirements, General Exclusions & Limitations 

 

CRITICAL CLAIM CONDITION: In order to file, process, or claim any benefits under this medical insurance plan, the insured member must provide and verify their active contact information (Email Address and Mobile Number). Daman reserves the right to reject any insurance claim if the contact information is missing, invalid, or unreachable at the time the claim is filed. 

 

3.1 All treatments, evacuations, and repatriations must be coordinated through and pre-approved by Daman’s authorized emergency medical assistance network. Unapproved self-referrals may result in a denial of coverage.  

 

3.2 This Plan is strictly for emergency medical conditions arising during the stay. It does not cover: 

 

  • Pre-existing medical conditions or chronic illnesses, unless explicitly required for immediate, life-saving stabilization. 
  • Routine, non-emergency physical exams, elective treatments, or cosmetic procedures. 
  • Pregnancy and childbirth-related expenses, unless resulting from an unforeseen, acute emergency. 

 

4. Benefits, Coverage Limits, & Exclusions 

 

4.1 Policy Limits and Network 

 

  • Overall Limit: The maximum aggregate coverage limit per person for the entire duration of the coverage period is AED 1,000,000. 
  • Territorial Limit: Coverage is strictly restricted to emergency treatments received within the United Arab Emirates. 
  • Network: Treatments must be sought within Daman’s ‘Visitors Plan Network’ for direct billing arrangements 

 

4.2 Covered Inpatient and Day Treatment Benefits (100% Covered In-Network) 

 

Subject to the overall policy limits, the plan covers the following services provided for Emergency treatment that lead to or occur during hospital confinement: 

 

  • Accommodation: Standard Shared Room only. 
  • Hospital Services: Hospital accommodation, operating theater, and standard hospital services. 
  • Professional Fees: Consultant’s, Surgeon’s, and Anesthetist’s fees. 
  • Ambulance: Ground transportation for an emergency leading directly to hospital confinement only. 
  • Pharmaceuticals: Administered exclusively during the period of hospitalization. 
  • Therapy: Physiotherapy and other rehabilitation therapy administered strictly during inpatient treatment only. 
  • Dental: Post-Traumatic dental treatment, provided it is caused by an accident occurring during the coverage period within the UAE. 
  • Medical Evacuation & Repatriation: Medical Evacuation to the nearest appropriate facility, and Medical Repatriation if required treatment is unavailable anywhere within the UAE. 
  • Mortal Remains: Repatriation of Mortal Remains up to a maximum limit of AED 10,000. 

 

4.3 Explicit Policy Exclusions 

This Plan is strictly for emergency In-Patient treatment.  

 

5. Ticket Changes, Cancellations, & Refunds 

 

5.1 Policies related to the cancellation, amendment, and refund of flight tickets are subject to the applicable fare rules of the ticket. 

 

5.2 Changes and Postponement of Travel Dates: 

 

  • Validity Window: Itinerary changes and associated coverage date adjustments are strictly permitted only if the new departure date should fall from 1st July 2026 till 31 Dec 2026  
  • If a guest changes or postpones the travel dates through Etihad Airways within this designated travel window, the coverage dates of the Plan will be adjusted to match the new travel itinerary, provided the revised stay duration continues to comply with the 24-hour minimum and 15-day maximum limits. 
  • Any Fare differences resulting from an increase or decrease in the number of travel days will be adjusted and charged or credited to the guest at the time of ticket modification. 

 

5.3 Policy Adjustments: No mid-trip adjustments, extensions beyond the 15-day maximum, or partial refunds for early departures from the UAE are permitted once the policy has taken effect.
